Nine Piping Solutions

The spiral wound Metallic gasket is semi-metallic, comprising of a spirally wound v-shaped stainless steel strip and a non-metallic filler material, such as graphite or PTFE. Also on the gasket, is a solid outer ring used for centering and controlling compression.

The Ring-Type joint metal gaskets (also called RTJ gaskets or API joint gaskets) are heavy duty, high-pressure gaskets largely used in offshore and onshore petrochemical industry, oil-field drilling and completion equipment, and in valves and pipework assemblies, along with some high integrity pressure vessel joints.

A rubber gasket is a smart component that seals against both liquids and gases. They are the perfect solution to fill in irregularities and connect two surfaces together. The characteristics of a gasket are to be manipulable and able to warp into the tight space it is designed for.

Flexible graphite Gaskets is manufactured from mineral graphite and contains carbon content between 95% and 99%. The higher the percentage of carbon the more flexibility the graphite will exhibit. All flexible graphite gaskets have excellent resistance to corrosive chemicals, high temperatures and high pressures.

Expanded PTFE sheet is an extremely compressible material manufactured from 100% virgin PTFE. It is a food approved product and has excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals, making it a popular sealing material in the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries.

PTFE gaskets are made of synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene consisting completely of carbon and fluorine. It is innately hydrophobic (repelling water and water-containing substances) and has one of the lowest coefficients of friction against any solid.

GRAFOIL® flexible graphite is a superior performing packing and gasket material. It is the first fluid sealing material made exclusively from natural graphite flake. As a result, its resistance to corrosion, aggressive chemicals, heat and fire make it a critical sealing solution for a variety of applications.

The Technical. One of the more desirable properties of an effective Cut Gaskets in industrial applications is the ability to withstand high compressive loads. Most industrial gasket applications involve bolts exerting compression well into the 14 MPa (2000 psi) range or higher.

Metal Jacketed gaskets consist of a metallic outer shell with either a metallic or non-metallic compressed fibre filler. The filler material gives the gasket resilience, while the metal jacket protects the filler and resists pressures, temperatures and corrosion.

A ceramic fiber gasket is manufactured by applying a mixture including ceramic fibers, inert clay and water to the top and bottom surfaces of a double sided perforated metal core. These surfaces are smoothed and dried. This assembly is formed to a predetermined thickness and individual gaskets are then cut from that.
