Nine Piping Solutions

Slip-on flanges, also known as 'hubbed flanges', have a hub with a very low profile. This type of flange is usually connected to a pipe by one or two fillet welds (one outside the flange and one inside the flange), it is however possible to use only a single weld.

A welding neck flange (also called a 'weld neck flange') is well recognised for its long-tapered hub, which provides mechanical strength (useful to resist 'dishing' and 'bowing'). Welding neck flanges are high integrity flanges and are available in all sizes, all common face types (flat, raised, RTJ), and all classes.

A puddle flange, also known as a water stop flange, is a specialized plumbing component used in building construction to prevent the ingress of water into structures, especially at pipe and conduit penetration points through concrete walls or slabs.

A lap-joint flange is a two-component assembly, with a stub end that has a lap-joint ring flange placed over it. The stub end is then butt welded to the pipe, and the flange ring can be rotated to align with the mating flange.

A Long Weld Neck Flange is an integral self-reinforcing Flange connection primarily for ASME Pressure Vessel applications. The Long Weld Neck (LWN) Flange was designed to be used in place of a Weld Neck Flange and piece of pipe for a bolt up connection to the vessel.

A Ring type joint flange (RTJ) is a machined metallic ring with a deep groove cut into its face. This groove rests a metal ring which gets compressed when the connecting bolts of the flange are tightened. This compression results in a leak-proof, close-fitting seal on the pipe or connection.

Spectacle Blinds Flange are simple safety devices that are installed between two pipe flanges. During normal operation, the open end is installed as a spacer to allow uninterrupted flow. To stop the flow in the pipeline, the blind end is rotated into place between the flanges.

The Orifice Flange is used to measure the flow of product through the piping system. When the Orifice Plate is installed there is a restriction of flow creating a differential pressure and this is used to measure the flow rate of liquids, steam or gases. The Orifice Plate is a thin plate with a center bore that is determined by the desired flow rate.

A spectacle flange is a specialty flange made of two metal discs attached in the middle by a small section of steel. Spectable flanges get their name because they look like a pair of reading glasses, or spectacles.

Reducing flanges are a specialty flange that are most often used on projects that require the fitting together of different sized pipes. Our range of plate flanges can be availed in different dimensional specifications depending upon the requirements and their applications.

A companion flange corresponds to another flange to create a joint that fits into pipe connections. It has bolt holes that align with other flanges for quick jointing. As a result, it creates a pressure-tight seal.

Companion flanges are vital in oil drilling operations. They help oilfield operators to assemble and disassemble pipe connections quickly. Besides, the flanges have bolt-hole patterns that align with other flanges to secure pipe joints. As a result, they make oil and gas pipes repair and maintenance services easy.

A collar is essentially used to couple a flange to a pipe. They are versatile and can be used in flange assemblies to form a compact system. When they are added to piping systems, the Plain Collar Flange offers a leak-proof finish, thus preventing the escape of gases or liquid by their tight seal. Typically they are used in systems that have connections with pressed flanges. Pressed flanges are popular in industries like Oil & Gas, Purification, Chemical as well as Petrochemical because they offer fitted connections. While using pressed flanges, one needs to make use of a sealing gasket for a snug fit. To optimize the connection between piping systems, and a pressed flange a sealing gasket is added between the two DIN 11864-2 Pressed Collar Flange. Once the bolts are tightened, the gasket ensures absorption of stress from the collars. As with most flanges, the material they are made from gives them their characteristics. The preference for Stainless Steel Collar Flange in both grades 304 and 316 is more because they offer better mechanical properties, and moderate to good resistance to corrosion. Though grade 316, exhibits better corrosion resistance behavior in comparison to grade 304.

Flanged Bellows. Engineered to facilitate pipeline movement and provide flexibility, flanged bellows, also known as EPDM bellows, are manufactured from ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber. They provide durability and a robust response to mechanical stress.

Socket weld flanges are designed for small nominal pipe sizes (≤ 4 inches, ≤ 10cm) and are common for ½ to 2-inch pipe sizes (1.3 to 5cm pipe sizes). The mechanical strength of a socket weld flange is similar to that of a slip-on flange, but the slip-on flange may use two welds. The ASME B31.

A blind flange (also called a 'closure plate flange') is installed at the end of a piping system to terminate a pipe. It has no centre hole (bore), so there is no flow through the flange. A blind flange may be used for isolating a pipe, valve, or pressure vessel.

The threaded flange design (also called a 'screwed flange') uses a screw thread to connect the flange to a pipe. A male thread is cut onto a pipe end whilst a female thread is cut into the bore of the flange; the male threaded pipe is then screwed into the female threaded flange.

The ANSI B16.5 Class 150 Plate Flanges are meant for both Pipe systems as well as Flanged Fittings. The specification for the ASME B16.5 Plate Flanges covers, dimensions, tolerances, marking, testing, pressure &temperature ratings, materials including methods of designating openings for flanges and flanged fittings in pipe systems . The following points are included:
Nickel Alloy 200 Plate Flange with pressure rating class designations i.e. class 150, class 300, class 400, class 600, class 900, and class 1500 in a size range between NPS 1/2 up to NPS 24 and Alloy Steel Plate Flanges with pressure rating class designation class 2500 is available in sizes NPS 1/2 till NPS 12. The requirements of the ASME B16.5 Plate Flange has been given in both metric as well as the U.S. Customary units with diameter of bolts and Plate Flange Dimensions bolt holes expressed in inch units;
Flanged fittings with rating class designation class 400, class 600, class 900, and class 1500 in sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 24 and ANSI B16.5 Plate Flanges fittings with rating class designation with Stainless Steel Plate Flanges class 2500 in sizes NPS 1/2 up until  NPS 12. These have been acknowledged in the specification in Non-Mandatory Appendix E section of the Flat Faced Plate Flanges in which only U.S. Customary units are provided.

The range of butt weld flange use is determined according to different characteristics. They are mostly used in the case of moderate medium conditions, such as low pressure non-purifying compressed air and low pressure circulating water. Its advantage is that the price is cheaper. Butt weld flanges are suitable for connection of steel pipes whose nominal pressure does not exceed 2.5MPa. The sealing surface of butt weld flanges can be made into three types of smooth, concave and convex. Smooth butt weld flange application of the largest amount, the other two methods of butt weld flange is also common in use.

Butt Weld flange is not easily deformed, with well sealed, so they are widely used. They have the corresponding rigid and elastic requirements and a reasonable butt welding thin transition, welding seam from the joint surface distance, so the joint will not be affected by the welding temperature deformation. They have a more complex body structure, so they are suitable for pressure or temperature fluctuations in the pipeline or high temperature, high pressure and low temperature pipe, generally used for PN greater than 2.5MPa pipe and valve connections; also used to transport prices Expensive, flammable, explosive medium on the pipeline.

Butt Weld flanges are used for connecting flanges and pipes, including many types and models. They are mainly used in welding technology and perform well in service and performance. They have reasonable structure, high strength and rigidity, Withstand high temperature and pressure and repeated bending and temperature fluctuations, reliable sealing, butt flange designed for nominal pressure of 0.25 ~ 2.5MPa is with concave and convex sealing surface. The main application environment of butt weld flange should be appropriate, this need to be determined according to the specific circumstances to ensure the specific use of welded flange of the value and performance, withstand high temperature and pressure.
Butt weld flanges, especially for SAE butt weld flanges, are generally made by forgings or forging processes.

Stainless Steel Reducing Flanges tend to be durable and corrosion resistant in nature. Depending on the material used to produce the ASTM A182 SS reducing wn flange, the mechanical as well as physical properties and behaviour under different conditions will vary.
Advantages of an ASME B16.5 Reducing Flange is as follows -

With the fore mentioned advantages, the ASTM A182 SS reducing wn flange is commonly used in sectors such as power plants as well as in industrial vessels. However, the buyer must check the changing line size to choose an apt Reducing Flange Dimensions that is well suited to his purpose or end use.
